Walking With or Walking Away?

Given on July 28, 2019 by Brett Helvie
Scripture: Colossians 2:6-10
Sermon Series: Complete in Christ

If you are a follower of Jesus, how would you evaluate your current “walk” with him? Are there any truths of the Gospel that you need to remind yourself of? Are there any directions you are going where you sense the Spirit of Christ is nudging you in a different way? Can you say that you are “overflowing” with gratitude? If not, what can you do to make thanksgiving more of a reality in your life?

What current philosophies of life or worldviews do you see “capturing” and “deceiving” believers in our culture? What makes these philosophies attractive? What makes them dangerous? Do you think there is a link between ingratitude and our susceptibility to false but enticing views of life?

Where are you looking for fulfillment in life? What do your everyday actions reveal about your life’s actual priorities – how you spend your time, your financial priorities, what consumes the majority of your mental energy?

What practical steps can we take that will help us find our true fulfillment in the only One who will not leave us empty and deceived?
