As you look forward into 2022, what changes would you like to see in your life? What steps are you going to need to take in order for those changes to become a reality? How much effort do you think will be required? How hopeful are you of seeing these changes actualized?
What changes would you like to see in your spiritual life? What role do you need to play in making these changes a reality? When you hear that God’s goal for us is to be “conformed to the image of his Son” (Ro 8:29), how does that impact you? Do you think it is a realistic possibility or simply some pious sounding church cliché?
If you are a follower of Jesus, what have you attempted to do to become more “Christlike” in the past? Did these things produce the spiritual transformation that you desired? What practices have been most helpful for you?
What obstacles do you see in our culture that make lasting Christlike transformation a significant challenge? What obstacles do you see in your own heart that make lasting Christlike transformation a challenge? How can we help one another along in this practice of being conformed to the image of Jesus?
