Jesus states in Luke 10:27 that the greatest responsibility that a human being has is to “love God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind.” The apostle Paul’s greatest passion was to know Jesus Christ (Phil. 3:7ff) How are loving God and knowing Jesus related? How does our mental picture of God impact our motivation to know him more intimately?
As you look over your life, how much of an actual priority is knowing God and loving him? Must this take place primarily in a “religious” context – church, Bible study, Christian fellowship? What changes do you think the Lord may be calling you to make in order to know him more intimately and love him more deeply in 2020?
