When you think about building relationships in the church, how do you respond? What are some of the difficulties that make experiencing genuine Christian community a challenge in our increasingly individualistic world? What elements have to be in place in order for authentic Christian relationships to develop? In your opinion, do modern technologies foster or hinder the development of deep Christian relationships?

Hebrews 3:13 calls on believers to “encourage on another daily” so that we don’t become calloused to sin and cynical in our outlook. Given the hectic pace of most of our lives, how can we go about implementing this command? As you look at your schedule, what does it say about how seriously you take this command?

As you look back on your life as a follower of Christ, how have you benefitted from genuine relationships with other believers who are honest and transparent? What have been some of the “costs” of seeking to live in true community?

In light of the reality that all of us have yet to arrive at a state of perfection, what biblical truths are important to keep in mind when we have been hurt in a relationship in the church or we have hurt someone else? How have you handled relationship struggles in the church in the past? Any changes you need to make in the future?
