Pray, Walk, Talk

Scripture: Colossians 4:2-6
Sermon Series: Complete in Christ

On a scale of 1 to 10, how would you rate your “devotion” to prayer? According to this passage what benefits come from prayer –especially in the area of evangelism? What practical steps can you take to make prayer a higher priority in your walk with Jesus?

Consider making a “Top Ten” list of those friends and family you would love to see come to know Jesus and begin to pray regularly that the Holy Spirit would open their hearts. In what ways have you seen Christians (yourself or others) act “unwisely” toward those who are “outsiders”? What impact do you think this had on their openness to really hear the message of the gospel? Are there any areas in which you need to act more “wisely”?

Paul encourages us to be wise in the ways we “walk” with outsiders but many believers have few friends outside the church. In what ways can you be more intentional about building relationships with those who don’t yet know Jesus?
In the past, how have you seen God “open doors” to share the gospel with someone? Can you clearly articulate the gospel in a manner that is comprehensible to someone who has never set foot in a church?

Spend some time thinking about ways that you can make your conversation with “outsiders” more “salty”. What issues, questions, comments can you raise in order to create a thirst for the gospel of grace?
