Crazy Christians and Their Resurrection

If you were given an opportunity to speak before the most powerful political and business leaders of our day about Christianity, what would you include in your speech? As you look at Paul’s speeches in Acts, what did he tend to emphasize?

Paul’s personal conversion story and the resurrection of Jesus seem to be two items that he wanted his audience to understand. Why do you think these were so prominent in Paul’s attempts to reach out to those who did not believe? Do you think emphasizing these two elements is an appropriate and effective way to present the Gospel today?

How would you respond to someone who says, “The story of Jesus’ resurrection is just another ancient myth. A bunch of old myths have stories of gods rising from the dead!”? What evidence would you present in an attempt to persuade someone to believe in the bodily resurrection of Jesus.

What aspects of Christianity cause unbelievers today to cry out, “You Christians are just nuts!”? Have you pondered any thoughtful ways to respond? Should we expect those who do not yet know the Lord to understand our beliefs and actions?
