Inside Out

What is the significance of the fact that Jesus, our High Priest, is seated at the right hand of the Father?  Was there a place in the Jewish tabernacle/temple for the high priest to sit down?

According to this text, what was the problem with the old covenant?  Do you think our personal and societal problems today can be dealt with through better behavioral improvement techniques and superior laws and regulations?  Why or why not?

It has been said that the Old Covenant can be summarized with God saying, “Thou Shalt!” (Ex. 20) and the people responding, “We will!” (Ex. 24:3) whereas the New Covenant can simply be summarized with God saying, “I will!” (Jer. 31:31-34; Ezek. 36:26&27; Heb. 8)  What do you think of this summary?

The blessings of the New Covenant are based on the complete forgiveness we have through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ (v. 12).  If you have trusted Jesus Christ as your Savior, what practical impact does the reality that God no longer remembers your sins have on your view of yourself?  Your acceptance of others? Your level of peace and joy?  Your obedience to the teachings of Jesus? Your love for God?
