What sources of information and wisdom do you pay close attention to?  Why do you listen to these sources?  If you are completely honest, how seriously do you listen to Jesus?

The recipients of this letter were being tempted to return to old and familiar ways in order to avoid persecuted or hassled.  What aspects of your “old” life are you tempted to embrace…especially when following Jesus becomes costly or difficult?

It is easy to “drift away” from really listening to Jesus (II Cor. 11:3; Heb. 2:1) and find ourselves paying more attention to the messages of the world and of our own desires.  What reasons does the author of this book given in the first three verses for really “listening up” to Jesus?
