Learning To Walk With A Limp

What changes do you see in Jacob’s attitudes and actions after he walked away limping from his wrestling encounter? Had he arrived at a state of perfection?

“Once you have wrestled with God, all wrestling with men seems minor by comparison.” If we know we have yielded to God and are following his plan for our lives, how should that reality impact how we respond to difficult people and challenging situations?

What caused the change in Esau’s attitude toward his brother Jacob (v.4)? According to Proverbs 16:7, when we follow the Lord in humble obedience he can even bring about “peace” with “enemies”. Has following the Lord resulted in more or less “peace” in your relationships? In what ways are you pursuing peace? Romans 12:18; 14:19

“Healthy relationships have healthy boundaries.” What boundaries does Jacob establish with Esau? Is it possible for relatives to be “too close”? Do you have appropriate boundaries in your relationships?
